Dogs must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long.
Do not bring more than two dogs or other pet to any one campsite. Guide dogs are an exception.

Horseback riding is permitted on designated trails.

Hiking is permitted throughout the forest.

Hunting

Hunting

Hunting is permitted throughout the Cleveland National Forest during hunting seasons designated by the California State Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Hunting is not permitted in those areas where the discharge of firearms is prohibited by County Ordinance, California State law or Federal regulations and hunters must follow all laws, including no hunting within 150 yards of a residence, building, campsite, developed recreation site or occupied area. A valid California hunting license is required.

Regulations & Recommendations

An Adventure Pass is required for all vehicles that are parked on forest land.
Discharge of firearms is currently prohibited except for the purpose of hunting during the designated hunting season as established by the California Department of Fish and Game.
Target shooting is prohibited.
A Free Visitor Permit is required for entrance into the wilderness areas, whether you are going in for several hours or overnight.
No vehicles are permitted; this includes bicycles.
A permit is required for overnight camping.
Pack-in/Pack-out all trash.

Trail Finder Detail

The GPS map progressively increases detail as you zoom in to prevent information overload.

Trail Finder maps are a subset of the GPS map. Trail Finder maps of large regions do not include the lowest zoom levels. In most cases, the GPS map has two more layers of detail than the Trail Finder maps.
