Unlimited camping throughout the park.
Free primitive campsites that have bathrooms:
Arroyo Salado, Culp Valley, Fish Creek, Sheep Canyon and Yaqui Pass.
Developed campsites that require a fee:
Borrego Palm Canyon and Tamarisk Grove.
Newly renovated cabins are available at Tamarisk Grove.
Dogs are permitted on leash in campgrounds and on dirt roads but not on trails. Remember, the air is always dry and the ground is usually hot.
Horses are permitted on all dirt roads and designated trails in the Cuyamaca region adjacent to the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.
Reservations are required to use the Vern Whitaker Horse Camp which is located north of Borrego Springs.
Hiking is permitted throughout the park.
Highway legal vehicles only on established roads. Hundreds of miles of dirt roads are open to street legal vehicles.
Off trail driving is strictly prohibited.
OHVs are prohibited.
Max Speed: 25 MPH. 15 MPH or less within 60 feet of vehicles, horses, campsites, people, bicycles, etc.
Mountain biking is permitted on all dirt roads that are shared with motor vehicles.
