Camping is permitted at designated campsites.

Dogs must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Do not bring more than two dogs or other pet to any one campsite. Guide dogs are an exception.

Horseback riding is permitted on all National Forest trails and roads, except for nature trails.

Hiking is permitted throughout the forest.

Hunting is permitted throughout the Los Padres National Forest during hunting seasons designated by the California State Department of Fish and Game.

Copies of regulations are available from California State Fish and Game offices, local sporting goods stores and licensing agents. Remember, a California State Hunting License is required for hunting game in the National Forest.

Motor vehicles are permitted on designated trails.
Be aware that some roads are closed seasonally or due to weather conditions.

Mountain biking is permitted on all National Forest trails and roads, except for nature trails and wilderness areas.

Off-Highway Vehicles are permitted on designated trails.
Green sticker, year round.
Red sticker, Oct 1 to April 30.

Target shooting is permitted in many areas of the forest. Seasonal restrictions occur due to fire hazard. Check with the Ranger District office nearest to where you wish to visit before you shoot.
