The terrain consists of beautiful vertical red and buff sandstone cliffs, capped by limestone in some areas, are deeply incised by narrow, twisting and heavily vegetated canyons. The area contains one perennial stream.

Dispersed camping is permitted in the wilderness. Developed campsites exist nearby, outside of the wilderness area.
Pets are allowed, but please keep them under control at all times. Dogs must be leashed in developed sites such as campgrounds and picnic areas.
Horseback riding is permitted on designated trails.
Hiking is permitted throughout the wilderness area.
Hunting is permitted in accordance with state laws and regulations. Check with the Nevada Department of Wildlife for information about licenses, regulations, closures, and seasons.
